Multiple Assignees
Added by Nanak almost 2 years ago
I know Redmine is hardcoded to only have one assignee but we could utilize custom user as co-assignee there is a plugin https://github.com/preciousplum/custom_users_as_assignees . This plugin is not maintained by its author for latest Redmine 5. compared to other project management software Redmine lacked this feature.

I have had a quick look at the proposed plugin.
Could you please explain to me what is the advantage of multiple assignees compared to groups and watchers?
I cannot see why this feature is useful.

Well watchers are usually used if you want observe/keep updated regarding the issue/ticket. Group is the Redmine way of assigning issue to multiple users but this has multiple restrictions. what if you are not in group, what if you want to assign to some individuals and not others in the group. all i am saying is it is very rigid system and this plugin will give them flexibility. but if you use watchers as co-assignees the problems are
- if you have issue visibility at issue created by or assigned to the user you cannot see the issue, in roles.
- if you want to sort issues assigned to you. you cannot sort (watchers is me) and (assignees is me) together.
with this plugin you get a filter "Just Assignee" this would filter whether you are in assignee or co-assignee(custom field(format user)) you could name it whatever you want. This would give co-assignee issue visibility. this would also help for external plugins like mega calendar where you could use it. This plugin will give enhanced verticality to Redmine. @liaham if you have further question feel free to ask.
